Seasonal Information

There is a good time and a better time to consign your things.  You may already know, when to consign what, a little refresher can't hurt.  Below is a guideline for when items sell best, in most places.  Also, take a peek at our MOST WANTED page for guidance.  The best advice is "If it will sell best in April, consign it in March to get the most out of your consigning experience."

  • January - Home Décor, DVDs, CDs, Books, Prom Gowns, Bras (No Clothing, Shoes, or Purses)
  • February - Spring Pastel colors– Light weight sweaters and long sleeves, Jr. Jeans, Capris, Sweater Sets, Spring décor, Open toe shoes, Light weight dresses, Prom Gowns & shoes
  • March - Spring  Pastel color short sleeves, capris, Easter items, Fancy Dresses, Prom Gowns & shoes, Jr Jeans, spring shoes, pastel color purses, short sleeve PJs, spring purses
  • April - Summer Bright & pastel colors- short sleeve and sleeveless, camis, shorts, capris, sundresses, Jr. Jeans, swimsuits, sandals, beach gear, Sleeveless PJs
  • May - Summer Bright & pastel colors - short sleeve and sleeveless, camis, shorts, capris, sundresses, swimsuits, sandals, beach gear, body lotions & sprays, 4th of July items, Bridal Wear
  • June - Summer  Very selective on summer items— Camis & Summer tops, Bridal wear
  • July - Home Décor, DVDs, Books, Bras, Small furniture items (No Clothing, Shoes, or Purses)
  • August - Fall Dk color capris, Jeans, light wt long sleeve tops, jackets, pocketbooks, wallets, dancewear, dance shoes (no fleece or sweaters)
  • September - Fall Jeans, Dress Pants, long sleeve tops, Dresses, Jackets, Halloween attire & décor. Fall color décor. Fall color dishes, closed toe shoes,
  • October - Winter Jeans, Dark Dress Pants, Sweaters, Coats, Christmas clothing, closed toe shoes, Boots, Christmas & NewYears Dresses (no short or 3/4 sleeve tops during winter season)
  • November - Winter Christmas Décor & clothing, Jeans, Pants, Sweaters, Coats, Snow Gear. This is also a great time to bring in new toys and gifts for Christmas shoppers.
  • December - Winter Very selective on Winter items.

    Lotions, potions and notions that sell all year round:
    Picture frames * vases * bowls * decorative plates * artwork * gift items * silk scarves * belts * knickknacks * accessories * planters * best sellers * perfume * bookends * candles and candlesticks.

    What is ready-to-sell condition?
    Clothing should be up-to-date, no older than two years, in season, pressed and on hangers.  Should you need hangers, please feel free to drop in and pick some up, we have plenty.  Items needing to be laundered or cleaned may not be accepted.  For more information, contact Encore On Main directly.

What does not sell!

Clothing older than 3 years old. Labels change in the clothing and our staff members can spot an outdated item JUST by the tag! If you can’t read the tag it may be too outdated or too worn to consign. Most labels are now screen printed or stitched onto the garments.

We do not accept clothing with...
Pleated pants (Boys pants are Ok)
Anything with shoulder pads (it’s way older than 3 years)
Blazers— (no wool, no plaid, no big buttons)
Elastic waist pants (only accepted in infant, toddler, & 2X)
Dresses or skirts with buttons down the front,
Clothing items with lace ties on sleeves, pants, or sides
Button fly skirts or pants
Chunky shoes or boots
Overalls— (we accept infant & toddler)
Rompers
Bedroom shoes/ Slippers
Plain Ts or Turtlenecks.
Items with tags that have been removed—

Most of our customers are in the 20-50 age range so we try to accept what we feel they are looking for.
